Our Commitment to Education

The foundation has committed itself to improve the quality of education in Pakistan through efforts in the following areas:

Primary education:

Under this theme the foundation supports organizations working towards providing subsidized education to under privileged students (Two primary schools have been setup with the Citizen Foundation www.thecitizensfoundation.org) in areas close to the IIL Factory where currently about 500 children are receiving quality education at highly subsidized rates.

Emerge Incubation Centre.

The Hunar Foundation (THF) and the Amir Sultan Chinoy Foundation (ASCF) signed an MoU on July 25, 2023, to establish an Entrepreneurial Development Lab (EDL) at THF’s Korangi Campus. The initiative empowers young entrepreneurs (aged 18–27) in Pakistan’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector through entrepreneurial, technical, and vocational training. Since January 2024, three cohorts comprising 90 students have graduated, benefiting from holistic support that includes mentoring, training, and networking opportunities.

Sports Collaboration with Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

With a multi-year sponsorship agreement under the Amir S. Chinoy Foundation, the ASC group is proud to support Sana and Saif Bahadar-two incredibly talented athletes who continue to defy odds. Though classified as persons with disabilities, their resilience, skills and passion make them true symbols of Pakistan’s unstoppable youth. Together, we aim to bring their talent-and Pakistan’s squash legacy to the global stage.

TCF Chinoy Campus:

  • Established in 2004, the TCF Chinoy Campus is a primary-level school located in the south region of Karachi, within a 10–15-minute walking distance from the IIL factory.
  • The campus was founded to serve both the local community and the children of factory workers residing nearby. Each academic year, the school receives over 100 new enrollment applications. To enhance learning and ensure sustainability, the campus has been fully solarized by IIL Factory.

TCF IIL Campus:

  • TCF IIL campus is also established in south region of Karachi. It’s functional since 2006.
  • The IIL campus is a primary level school and that is located nearby IIL factory with the walk-in distance of 3 minutes across the road.
  • The campus is established to facilitate the workers of the factory as well as the community kids.
  • The school strength is 388 in the morning and 184 in the afternoon. Its operational capacity in the morning is 360 while in the evening its 180. The total staff is 21 in the morning shift and 14 in the afternoon shift.
